Halloween es una fiesta que tradicionalmente se celebraba en los Estados Unidos pero poco a poco se ha ido haciendo más popular y se ha extendido a muchos lugares. En cada país se celebra de un modo aunque aquí os dejo algunas cosas que debéis saber sobre Halloween mas tradicionales

10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HALLOWEEN

1- October 31st is Halloween  the night when witches, the dead, and evil spirits return to earth. Before Christianity came to Britain, October was the day of the Celtic year and their feast of the Dead. The Celts built fires on the hills to welcome the souls of the dead back to their homes.

2-In the ninth century , the church made November the 1st the feast of all saints and October 31st became the eve of All saints, or All Hallows: Halloween.

3- if you go out on the Halloween, make sure you don't travel in the dark. if you do then carry a piece of bread with some salt on it. this will protect you if you meet a supernatural being.

4- In ancient times people ate nuts to make then wise , and apples to protect them from the evil. People still roast chestnuts and bake apples at Halloween parties.

5- they symbol of Halloween is the pumpkin. the inside of the pumpkin is extracted and the eyes , nose and mouth of a demonic face cut out. a candle is place inside. these pumpkin heads were originally created to frighten evil spirits.

6- Halloween party is the title of one of the Agatha Christie's Hercules Poirot stories. The night also features in To kill a Mockingbird, E.T, and ...

7- Halloween was once thought to be the best time for predicting the future. if a girl wanted to know who her husband would be, she would brush her hair in front of a mirror and hope to see his reflection. if she wanted to know his name then she would brush her hair  in front of a mirror  and hope to see his reflection. If she wanted to know his name then she would  peel an apple in a long strip  and throw it over her left shoulder. the peel would fall in the form of a letter , the initial of her future husband's name.

8- In the Unites States , children dress up in Halloween costumes and play a game that was introduced by immigrants. they go from house to house knocking on people's doors and shouting: "trick or treat?"  People usually give them a treat like some sweets . but if the children don't get a treat they  play a trick on the person.

9- If someone wanted to know if they would have a lucky year, they put apples and sixpence in a tub of water. if the person could extract either of them with their mouth (without  using their teeth), they would have a lucky year.

10- Make sure that you shut all your windows and doors on Halloween. If a poltergeists gets in , it may never leave. Avoid crossroads at Halloween- it is here were witches meet and spirits do business with the Devil.

10 COSAS QUE DEBERÍAS SABER SOBRE HALLOWEEN

1 -  El 31 de octubre es Halloween la noche cuando las brujas, los espíritus muertos y los demonios  vuelven a la tierra. Antes de que el cristianismo llegara  a Gran Bretaña,  el 31 de Octubre era el último  día del año celta y su fiesta de los muertos. Los celtas construían hogueras en las colinas de dar la bienvenida a las almas de los muertos de vuelta  a sus hogares.

2 - En el siglo IX, la iglesia hizo el 1 de noviembre la fiesta de Todos los  Santos y el 31 de octubre se convirtió en la vispera de todos los Santos, o todos Santos: Halloween.

3-Si sales en Hallowen, asegúrate de no viajar de noche. Y si lo haces lleva contigo un trozo de pan con sal. Esto te protegerá si  te encuentras con un ser sobrenatural.

4 - En la antigüedad personas comían nueces para hacerse sabios y manzanas para protegerse contra el mal. La gente todavía asa castañas asado y hornea manzanas en las fiestas de Halloween.

5- El símbolo de Halloween es la calabaza. el interior de la calabaza se extrae y se cortan los ojos, nariz y boca de una cara demoníaca .Dentro se coloca una vela. Estas cabezas de calabaza fueron creadas originalmente para asustar a malos espíritus.

6-"Halloween Party" es el título de una de las historias de Hercule Poirot de Agatha Christie. L a noche  de Haloween también aparece en películas como Matar a  un ruiseñor, E.T, y...

7 - Una vez  se pensó  que Halloween era el mejor momento para predecir el futuro. Si una chica quería saber quién sería su marido, se peinaba frente al espejo y esperaba ver su reflejo.. Si ella quería saber su nombre , pelaría una manzana en una tira larga y  la tiraría sobre su hombro izquierdo. La piel caería en forma de letra, la inicial del nombre de su futuro esposo.

8 - En los Estados Unidos, los niños se visten con disfraces de Halloween y un juegan a un juego que fue introducido por los inmigrantes. Van de casa en casa llamando a las puertas de la gente y gritan: ¿Truco o trato? La gente generalmente les caramelos. Pero si los niños no reciben un trato  le gastan una broma a la persona.

9-Si alguien quería saber si tendrían un año afortunado, ponen las manzanas y seis peniques en una tina de agua. Si la persona podría extraerlos de ellos con su boca (sin utilizar sus dientes), tendrían un año afortunado.

10-Asegúrate de que cierras todas las puertas y ventanas en Halloween. Si entra un poltergeist, nunca puede irse. Evita los cruces de Halloween , es aquí  donde se reúnen las   Brujas y  los espíritus hacen negocios con el diablo.
